Project Type: Clover Island Shoreline Improvements, Phase 1

Clover Island, connected by a land causeway and adjacent to the landmark Ed Hendler Bridge, is located off the shoreline of the Columbia River. Encompassing 16 acres, it is currently home to numerous businesses including a hotel, restaurants, office buildings, marine facilities and the Coast Guard.

The intent of the shoreline improvement is to capitalize on the cultural, historical and recreational values of this special place by creating a heightened and memorable ‘ experience’ for tourists, the surrounding community and the business and recreational users that visit the island by vehicles, cycling, walking or by boat.

High energy gathering places included within Phase 1: lighthouse, plaza, main gateway structure, overlooks of the Columbia River, and also utility design and installation along the causeway.
